Account
Customizing your Tofu account with your picture or company logo requires that your user account be an account owner or administrator. If your account has these privileges, you can click on the Account Settings link on the bottom of each page in Tofu. Once there, you will see the Upload Your Logo box where you can browse your computer for an image and upload it. Once uploaded, your logo will show up really soon.
Importing data into your Tofu account requires that your user account be an account owner or administrator. If your account has these privileges, you can click on the Account Settings link on the bottom of each page in Tofu. Once there, you will see the Import a Backpack™ Account box where you can browse your computer for the file you exported (.xml) from your Backpack™ account. Once imported, the pages will be placed in a folder named after the Backpack™ account you imported.
We are currently working on different ways for you to export your data out of Tofu. All of the data you input into Tofu belongs to you and we will offer various export options (possibly: xml, yaml & html) in the near future.
Once you issue and confirm the command to delete your account, the data (images, files, user profiles, statuses, billing info, page data, laterlist, etc.) will all be immediately deleted from our servers. The removal is permanent and your data cannot be recovered once this happens.
Billing
Absolutely! We will be very sad to lose you, but at any point you can downgrade your plan to a smaller plan as long as your account fits into the requirements of the new plan. You may also delete your account at any time at which point you will no longer be billed. You are, however, still responsible for any charges that incurred up until your cancellation.
We will deduct the pro-rated amount of your current plan from your new plan. For example, if your current plan is $50/mo and you upgrade to the $75/mo plan half-way into your billing cycle, we will deduct $25 from your new plan ($50 / 2 = $25). So the charge for the first month of the new plan will be $50/mo.
Once you downgrade your plan, your new plan will take effect immediately and you will not be charged for the new plan until you reach the end of your current billing cycle. No refund or credit will be given toward the new plan.
The charges for Tofu will show up as 'edge14 Web' on your credit card.
Unfortunately at this time we do not. If this is something you would like, please suggest it on our Get Satisfaction page.
Pages
Every element on a page can be double-clicked on in order to edit it. To see a video demo of this feature, check out our Getting Started guide.
All elements on the page, including each list item, can be clicked and dragged around. Once you release the mouse button the element will be dropped into place.
Every element type we currently support is listed on the Add item to page: box next to the page title. Clicking on the corresponding element link will add that particular element type to the page. If you do not see the box, then it's likely that you currently only have 'read' rights to the page you are viewing.
On the bottom of each page, there is a few options you can select. If you have 'supervisor' rights to a page, you will see the Page Sharing link on the bottom of that page. Clicking that link will reveal the Public Sharing box from which you can share the page publicly. After clicking the checkbox to share the page, if you return to the page you will notice a new orange-colored box has appeared that reveals the address that people can visit to see your page. Publicly shared pages will not be editable by the public. If you want a list of all the pages publicly shared by your account, you can visit http://youraccount.tofuapp.com/public.
Calendaring
Currently the only way to share your calendar is through calendar subscriptions. If you click the Subscriptions link under your calendar you will be shown a list of all your calendars and the addresses belonging to each of them. You can share those addresses with the people you would like to share your calendar. We are currently working on adding calendar sharing with users in your account.
Click on the appointment you would like to edit and the form for editing the appointment will pop up.
If haven't already input your mobile phone number in your profile, you will need to do that first otherwise alerts will default to your email address. Click the My Profile link in the upper right-hand corner of Tofu. Then click the Modify Profile link once inside of your profile. You will see a field for inputting your number as well as a checkbox that indicates alerts will be sent to your mobile phone.
Permissions
All permissions are applied at the folder level. That means that any page inside of the folder will automatically inherit the folder's permissions. Users are given permission to a folder either explicitly or by being a member of a group that has permissions to the folder. If a user does not have any permissions granted to a folder, either explicitly or through a group, the user cannot see the folder and the folder and its pages will not show up in search results.
The Read permission ensures that a user or group has rights view all pages in the respective folder and that those pages show up in their search results. The user or group, however, will not be able to modify anything on the pages.
The Edit permission ensures that a user or group has rights view all pages in the respective folder and that those pages show up in their search results. The user or group will also be able to modify anything on the pages.
The Supervisor permission ensures that a user or group has rights to read and edit all pages in the respective folder and that those pages show up in their search results. The user or group will also be able to modify permissions to the folder. Supervisors are also granted access to share a page publicly with users outside of your account.
LaterList
Adding items to the LaterList is done through a tool called a bookmarklet. Bookmarklets look and feel like traditional bookmarks but they possess some intelligence. Once you are on your LaterList page, you will see the LaterList bookmarklet in the upper right-hand corner of the page. Drag this bookmarklet to your bookmarks bar or to your favorites icon in Internet Explorer. The next time you are on a page that you would like to add to your LaterList, simply click the bookmarklet.
No. Only items that are checked and appear on the bottom-half of your LaterList page will be marked for deletion.
Absolutely. Once you uncheck a LaterList item, it will automatically be moved back up to the top half of your LaterList and removed from the deletion queue.
Compatibility
Because Tofu uses many advanced features, a modern browser is required. We currently support Internet Explorer 7+, Mozilla Firefox 3.0+ and Safari 2.0+. We're very sorry if your browser is currently not supported. We recommend using Mozilla Firefox as it works on most operating systems and it's a free download.
This is something we're working hard on. We're not sure when it will be completed, but soon you'll be able to access all of your pages from your phone!
